The Chicago Tribune’s dining critic, Phil Vettel, named Susan Frasca “1998’s Quickest Empire Builder.” The Frasca Hospitality Group is Chicago’s largest female-owned restaurant conglomerate and an important presence on the Chicagoland restaurant scene.
In 1998, when Susan purchased the restaurant, the scuffed up walls, harsh lighting, sagging floors and dingy exterior were hiding the amazing jewel of a dining spot that it would become. “I wanted a place where people could feel comfortable pulling up a chair and calling it their second home. Whatever it took.The result is a total transformation that has put The Kinzie Chophouse at the top of the restaurant list for both locals and Chicago visitors.
The Frasca Hospitality Group continues to be a leader and sets the standard for fine dining in Chicago. The Kinzie Chophouse will be celebrating its 25th year milestone in early 2016!
General Manager and Wine Director
Colleen comes to us with 18 years of restaurant experience beginning in the western suburbs of Chicago managing a local restaurant continuing on to bartending throughout Chicago and out in Boston where she held a 5-year position as Front of House Manager on the Boston Harbor, at one of Boston's largest outdoor venues.
Colleen heads up the wine program for Kinzie Chophouse alongside the owner, Susan Frasca. She has an undergraduate degree in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing from IADT – Chicago. Bringing her customer service and marketing skills to the table, she is a valuable member to the Kinzie Chophouse team.
Director of Sales
Samantha heads up our Sales, Marketing, and Private Events department at the Kinzie Chophouse.
Samantha comes to Kinzie Chophouse with a Consumer Science degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and 10 years of sales and marketing experience from various industries including: professional sports, fitness, and technology. While she has not been a part of the restaurant industry long or often, she loves learning about food and dining all over the city discovering new things! She brings her passion and enthusiasm into everything she does, especially wine and food.
Manager & Beer Director
Liz is very excited to join the Kinzie Team! She earned a bachelor's degree in Speech-language Pathology from Elmhurst College and a master's degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis from Ball State University. After nearly 10 years in behavior intervention, child development and special education, she returned to an equal passion - hospitality!
Liz has worked in hospitality since she was a teenager. From Mom and Pop neighborhood restaurants, microbreweries, gastro-pubs, to The Alinea Group. And in positions from hostess, server, bartender, event coordinator and Maitre d'.
Outside of work, Liz lives in Lincoln Park with her boyfriend, Ryan, and dog, Travis. They love exploring the city together, eating absolutely everywhere, going to concerts and catching a Cubs game.
